Oral Functional Rehabilitation Conceptual Recognition and Oral Functional Rehabilitation Program Needs among Elderly Facility Workers

Abstract

|
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the level of awareness of the concept of oral rehabilitation for the elderly, and to confirm the need for oral rehabilitation programs targeting senior citizens' facilities.
Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted on the cognizance of oral care management; the awareness of oral functional rehabilitation program requirements; and the conceptualization of oral functional rehabilitation among workers in senior facilities.
Results: According to the survey, “4.15” points and “4.13” points, respectively, were indicative of a high need for an oral functional rehabilitation program. There was also an awareness that oral functional rehabilitation programs could contribute towards better health in the aged.
Conclusions: It is necessary to develop systematic oral functional rehabilitation programs for older people in communities.
